BCS Exam Attempt Limit Raised to 4
In a press release from the Cabinet Division on Thursday, October 31, it was announced that candidates will now be allowed to take the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) exam a maximum of four times.  This change follows discussions and debates over a previous decision limiting candidates to three attempts. The Interim Government has since revised its stance, allowing candidates an additional attempt. The release states that, under the powers granted by Section 59 of the ‘Government Service Act, 2018’ and based on the Ordinance on Maximum Age Limit for Direct Recruitment in 2024, the Ministry of Public Administration has restructured the 'Bangladesh Civil Service (Age, Qualifications, and Examination for Direct Recruitment) Regulations, 2014,' permitting a candidate up to four attempts in the BCS exam. The Advisory Council has instructed the Ministry of Public Administration to include this amendment in the regulations.

BCS question leak: Formation of three-member committee
Public Service Commission (PSC) has formed a three-member inquiry committee into the BCS question leak incident. PSC Chairman Sohrab Hossain informed the media on Tuesday (July 9) morning. This committee has been constituted by convening the director in the rank of a joint secretary of the commission. The committee has been directed to submit its report very soon. PSC Chairman Sohrab Hossain said, 'We have given an explanation of the incident that happened with the question paper.' However, a three-member committee headed by a joint secretary has been constituted to probe the entire incident further. The committee will talk to all the parties and report back soon.
